The Architecture of Dreams: Work of Rita Wolff (research)

Description
The research revisits the work and legacy of Luxembourgeois artist Rita Wolff by documenting, cataloguing and critically analysing her work. Born in 1941, Rita began her exceptional artistic practice as a self-taught painter in 1972. Her surrealist paintings artistically challenge the realism of a place and a time. They show us a world that oscillates between compassion and melancholy. Her work soon entered the realm of 20th century architecture when she collaborated with architect Léon Krier. The archival research has compiled a full catalogue of Wolff’s work, analysed through a critical, art historical and architectural lens. Complemented by interviews with the artist and her collaborators.
