Award
Founded in 1995 on the initiative of the Foundation for Architecture and Engineering, now LUCA – Luxembourg Center for Architecture, the Luxembourg Architecture Award (LAA) recognises outstanding projects in the fields of architecture, interior design, engineering, urbanism and landscape architecture. Awarded to the authors of these projects — architects, interior designers, engineers, landscape architects and urban planners — the LAA aims to promote professional excellence and enhance the quality of architectural production in Luxembourg.
For its 9th edition, the award categories have been adapted to better address contemporary challenges related to the production of architectural and urban space. Considering that the practice of architecture is not limited to project management, the LAA rewards projects that meet both disciplinary requirements and the needs and aspirations of Luxembourg society.
The cultural programme organised as part of the award also helps to raise public awareness of the quality of the built — and unbuilt — environment.
Since its creation, the LAA has been recognised by the entire profession and has established itself as a reference for planners and project owners. Its educational and cultural dimension for the general public complements its professional vocation.
