ABOUT THE LAA
A BIG STEP FORWARD
For its 8th edition, the Prix Luxembourgeois d'Architecture will become the LAA Luxembourg Architecture Award.
This new name is linked to a more than ever international context, and it is essential to increase the visibility of the event and its promoters and participants.
EASY AND FAST
It is our job and responsibility to make the submission process as simple as possible, and for this reason, we have created a dedicated website that will allow you to submit your project(s) without even leaving your desk.
WHAT IS THE LAA
Launched in 1995 as an initiative of the LUCA Luxembourg Center for Architecture, the LAA is awarded in 2019 with the objective of recognising architectural excellence and will stand as testament to the vitality and quality of contemporary creation in Luxembourg.
The Luxembourg Architecture Award (LAA) is awarded to works by architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, and urban planners.
The LAA will be given to the authors of the works in order to promote and encourage professional creativity and excellence in the architectural field in Luxembourg.
Thanks to previous editions, the LAA has gained recognition from the architecture profession and has cemented its position as a reference for planners and building owners. The LAA also serves to raise awareness of quality of the built environment and the achievements that contribute to the improvement of our living environment.
In addition to the LAA by LUCA, there is also the Bauhärepräis, established and organized by the OAI Ordre des Architectes et Ingénieurs-Conseils. Since 2000 it has been awarded every four years to owners of public or private buildings who have succeeded in promoting quality architecture, engineering and urban planning (more info on www.bhp.lu).
LAA EXHIBITION AND CEREMONY
All the eligible projects were accessible to the general public via the LAA Exhibition, which took place from the 15th November to the 19th December 2019 at LUCA.
The ceremony took place on the 12th of December 2019 in the presence of the jury members whereupon the LAA trophies were awarded.
One of the objectives of the LAA is to spread the quality of Luxembourg contemporary architecture all over the world. For this reason, all the eligible projects are promoted on the LAA website starting from the 15 November 2019.
Spreading architectural creativity from Luxembourg
Additionally, the new website serves as a freely accessible archive and allows the public to keep track of the best of architectural creativity and excellence from Luxembourg.
