MAISON RAKOCHY
RM architectes - MANUEL ROCAS
Description
The project aligns with the continuity of the neighboring building, designed twenty years earlier by architects Steinmetz & De Meyer. Our intervention, also rising three levels with a flat roof, follows its lines to ensure perfect visual coherence. This integration relies on a rigorous incorporation of the initial alignments, typologies, and color palette, including the reuse of iconic materials such as glass bricks on the rear facade.
Marking the end of a built sequence on Rue de Neudorf, our side facade faces a public parking lot. Although it cannot accommodate openings, this blind gable is treated as a permanent facade in its own right, regardless of the plot’s future evolution.
