Letzebuerg city museum – Brasserie de l’Hêtre

Description

The project in Luxembourg combines contemporary architecture with heritage preservation. A new brasserie volume replaces a 1934 extension and is set slightly over the rock to maintain street views. It contains the main dining and kitchen areas, opening toward valley views while ensuring privacy. In summer, sliding windows connect interiors to outdoor terraces. The historic building is restored and hosts secondary dining spaces, sanitary facilities, technical rooms, and museum offices. A 19th-century hall is carefully preserved with restored stucco and paintings, regaining its semi-public function within the project.
