Generatiounencampus Wobrécken – Pilot project for circular construction
Witry & Witry architecture urbanisme
Description
The campus for 400 children houses a kindergarten, a primary school, a daycare, as well as a sports hall and a crèche. Thanks to the compact design, the project concentrates on a small part of the site, allowing half of the available land to be developed as a publicly accessible park. During the realisation of this “pilot project for circular construction”, a holistic methodology was used to take into account the entire life cycle of the building realized as wooden construction in accordance with the principles of the circular economy. Thanks to this holistic approach, the construction is carbon-negative and the building materials can be separated without damage and reused in the end.
