Foyer Saint-Jean-Paul II
Fabeck Architectes
Description
At Belval’s university campus, this project explores spirituality within a knowledge-driven environment. As inclusive, open places of worship remain rare in Luxembourg, this space fosters essential dialogue and coexistence. The design prioritizes how sacred architecture can remain discreet and welcoming people of different beliefs. Developed by the “Kierchefong,” the building merges spiritual, social, and residential functions. The sober massing features a recessed entrance and a green roof. Inside, the program is organized vertically: a quiet basement chapel, a public ground floor for community activities, and upper levels housing a small communal residence designed as a “school of life.”
