Sonic Investigations (installation)
Valentin Bansac, Mike Fritsch, Alice Loumeau
Description
Sonic Investigations is an exploration of sound as a tool for territorial analysis, offering alternative ways to mediate rapidly transforming environments. Showcased as the 19th Architecture Biennale Luxembourg Pavilion in Venice, the project is an immersive, joyful, and radical invitation to shift focus from the visual to the sonic. It presents an in-situ sound piece from distinctive locations across Luxembourg, commissioned to Ludwig Berger.
As a companion to the installation, the book ‘Ecotones: Investigating Sounds and Territories’, edited in collaboration with Peter Szendy, extends the investigation on the relevance of sound in territorial studies across disciplines and geographies.
