Quartier Maton
YO studio — Étienne Duval
Description
Quartier Maton reinterprets urban inquiry as a spatial dispositif. Developed as part of a city-wide consultation, a photo booth–like installation invites visitors to respond to speculative multiple-choice questions about their neighborhood — from saving a place from a meteorite to choosing between a low or high data center. By altering the way questions are posed, the project shifts participants away from predictable answers. Their responses are interpreted in real time into drawn “portraits” of the district, serving less as outputs than as triggers for reflection on how the city is perceived and imagined.
