The Musée de la résistance project is founded on the complete preservation and careful internal and external restoration of the historic building. The monumental structure and its colonnaded courtyard are rehabilitated, while discreet contemporary interventions accommodate the needs of a modern museum. A new extension on Rue de l’Alzette houses exhibition, administrative, research, educational and archive spaces. Its deliberately contemporary facade, composed of stacked stone elements marked by a vertical fissure, embodies historical conflict, serving as both monument and warning for present and future generations.
