Description

Modular Wooden Building Moutfort

The buildung in Moutfort consists of three reused modular timber structures and serves as an office space as well as an exhibition venue. The modules join together harmoniously and, thanks to the use of wood as building material, create a healthy and pleasing atmosphere regarding haptical and visual appearance, ambient air and acoustics. The exceptional level of flexibility in terms of mobility and (re)organization of individual modules as well as the ecological sustainability of modular timber construction as a whole is mirrored by the story of these three modules:
Prefabricated at the workshop, transported up the mountain Chäserrugg via cableway, they had been used as an interim alpine restaurant for two years. They were then air lifted off the mountain and taken back to the Blumer-Lehmann facility in Gossau (CH) for refit and reconfiguration, before being transported to Luxembourg.
The project in Moutfort is a temporary set up - when it’s time the modules can be adapted and reused again in a different context.
