GuestHouse 50
Kaell Architecte
Description
Born from a fire-damaged ruin, the GuestHouse50 project emerges as a quiet act of resistance to real estate speculation, choosing preservation over erasure. It uncovers forgotten layers and reclaims the dignity of the ordinary as a gesture of care and environmental responsibility, leading to its inclusion in the Supplementary Inventory of National Monuments. It demonstrates how private individuals, through vision and persistence, can initiate complex restorations that preserve the fabric and identity of the rue de Rollingergrund. Today, the house combines private use with a flexible community space, redefining the traditional townhouse as an inclusive, adaptable urban commons.
