Domaine Claude Bentz
Studio Jil Bentz
Description
The project is an autonomous extension of a winery in Remich. It hybridises materials and uses, engaging in dialogue with its site and surroundings while contributing to the wider region. It coherently combines the winery’s commercial and administrative spaces with an architecture office and a private apartment in a two-storey, 71m long timber and concrete structure. Carefully inserted into a narrow, topographically constrained site, the design resolves spatial challenges through an enfilade layout without corridors. Concrete walls organise a sequence of square rooms rotated by 45° on the ground floor, while 8 wooden columns structure three nine-square grids on the upper level.
