Biomass power plant
Bruck + Weckerle Architekten
Description
The biomass power plant in Niederanven is conceived as an abstract architectural object shaped by the arrangement of its technical components.
Its dimensions derive from the arrangement and size of its components: silos, incinerators, chimneys and control equipment, enclosed within a concrete box for protection and noise reduction.
An outer envelope of untreated wooden poles from nearby forests conceals the technical systems and gives the building an abstract but sculptural presence based on simple geometric forms.
Over time, climbing plants, birds and insects will further integrate the volume into the landscape.
A window offers a glimpse into the interior. Panels display the energy data.
