Endymion – urban garden

Description

Studio SNCDA, with Jan Minne Gardenist, has designed a hortus conclusus aimed at rediscovering the history of a place by reactivating its memory and forgotten uses - from the parade ground of a fortress to the urban forest, via a period of bourgeois picnics.
Endymion is a garden that proposes solutions that bring new natural forms back to the city: plants, animals, water, fire and wind. The design is based on the way in which nature meets the city. Three objects accompany and complement the garden, which can be reinterpreted as an allegory of the Greek myth of the human quest for the ideal garden. Each object represents a different way of inhabiting the space.
