Gîte à Lasauvage

Description

The gîte in Lasauvage is part of the Esch2022 project, which created 11 different accommodations along a shared hiking route, the “Minett Trail.”
A sculpture made of solid timber elements, integrated into the hollowed existing structure, contains bedrooms, showers, stairs, and a kitchen. On the ground floor, its footprint is reduced to essentials, forming a spacious, flexible communal area spanning two levels up to the roof, designed for meetings and gatherings.
On the gable walls, artist Lea Schroeder tells the story of Lasauvage through on-site painted bas-reliefs.
The gîte is both accommodation and a cultural landmark, offering deeper insight into the village’s history and community.
