MINORS & MAJORS

Description

MINERS & MAJORS reactivates Mont Notre-Dame des Mineurs as a device rather than a monument. In a region shaped by rapid change and fading memory, preservation shifts toward experience. A temporary scaffolding wraps the existing tower, extending it through access rather than mass. Two intertwined double-helix staircases structure the ascent, turning movement into encounter. At the top, a platform reveals the mining landscape as a constructed territory. The monument becomes a lens rather than an object. Conceived as an ephemeral installation, it disappears after two months, leaving a renewed reading of the site.
