Vëlodukt, piste cyclable et piétonne

Description

VËLODUKT is a 1.2 km-long bridge for cyclists and pedestrians, rising 7.5 m above ground between Esch-sur-Alzette and Belval University. More than a cycle path, it embodies Luxembourg’s vision of sustainable mobility, linking heritage and future urban needs. Inspired by the site’s industrial identity, its structure, colors and materials integrate seamlessly into the landscape. Developed through close collaboration between public authorities, engineers, designers, artists and builders, the project combines technology, aesthetics and functionality. Suspended sections preserve existing trees, while repeating gantries give the bridge a strong identity and landmark presence.
