Description
The Bibliothèque nationale du Luxembourg was inaugurated in September 2019 and houses 2.500.000 books and media - the Cultural Heritage of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg.
During the planning process the building site was moved from one end of Avenue John F. Kennedy to the other end which required a re-design of the draft.
The library with conference rooms and Café has a red pre-cast concrete facade with an inviting glass entrance. On the inside terraced workstations unfold around the archive which is encased by public spaces. The wide-span roof structure seems to hover above the airy space.
